Brian J. Nickerson, CFSP

Founder & CEO

Brian J. Nickerson's career in funeral service is built upon a foundation of integrity, compassion, leadership, and service excellence. His company represents a continuation of the dignified and professional care families throughout Texas have trusted for years - delivering personalized funeral services that honor every life while supporting families through some of their most difficult moments.

From an early age, Brian knew he was called to funeral service. After earning a degree in Music in California, he returned home to Texas to pursue his true passion and dedicate his life to serving families and communities through funeral care. Brian received his funeral service education from the prestigious Dallas Institute of Funeral Service and began his professional career at Paradise Funeral Home, where he completed his apprenticeship and developed a strong operational and service foundation within the profession. His dedication and leadership quickly led to his appointment as Funeral Home Manager of Singing Hills Funeral Home, the only African American funeral home within Stewart Enterprises at the time. In this role, Brian demonstrated exceptional leadership, cultural awareness, and a deep commitment to serving diverse communities with dignity and professionalism. Following the acquisition of Steward Enterprises by Service Corporation International (SCI), Brian was promoted to General Manager, overseeing multiple funeral homes, cemeteries, and service operations throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth market, including:
• Singing Hills Funeral Home
• Laurel Land Funeral Home
• Laurel Land Memorial Park – Dallas
• David Clayton & Sons Funeral Home
• Little Bethel Memorial Park
• Serenity Florist
Brian later expanded his leadership responsibilities as General Manager over an additional portfolio of respected funeral homes and memorial parks, including:
• Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home
• Grand Prairie Funeral Home
• Grove Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park
• Anderson-Clayton-Gonzalez Funeral Home – Mesquite
• Gonzalez Funeral Home and Crematory of Dallas
Throughout his career, Brian has remained deeply committed to advancing the funeral profession through leadership, mentorship, and active industry involvement. His professional affiliations and leadership positions include:
• Past President — Dallas Local Funeral Directors Association
• President — Independent Funeral Directors Association of Texas
• Member — National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA)
• Sergeant-at-Arms & Member — National Funeral Directors & Morticians Association (NFDMA)
• Member — Texas Funeral Directors Association
Brian has also served his broader community through leadership and advisory roles, including:
• Past Advisory Board Member — Dallas Arts District
• Past Advisory Board Member — Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts
His reputation for professionalism, excellence, and compassionate care has earned the trust of countless families and organizations throughout Texas. Brian was notably entrusted with overseeing one of the most prominent religious funeral services held in Dallas during the past decade - a reflection of the confidence placed in his leadership and ability to manage high - profile services with grace and dignity. Committed to continuous professional growth, Brian achieved the designation of Certified Funeral Service Practitioners (CFSP) through the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice in March 2020. In 2023, he further earned his Certified Funeral Service General Manager designation through the Funeral Service Institute for Public Policies General Managers Academy. Today, through N Service Companies and Nickerson's, Brian continues his mission of providing families with exceptional care rooted in integrity, compassion, and service excellence. His vision is to create an organization that not only honors lives with dignity but also elevates the standard of funeral service for future generations. For Brian, funeral service is more than a profession - it is a lifelong calling centered on serving families, building community trust, and preserving legacies with honor and respect.
